-HOT

Used to describe food that causes a burning feeling in the mouth.

“a hot curry

 

-SWEET

An special  food or drink that has a taste similar to sugar.

“On the whole, I prefer dry wines to sweet ones

-SPICY

A dish that contains strong flavours from spices

“I love Creole cooking, so hot and spicy.”

-SAVOURY

Savoury food is salty or spicy and not sweet in taste.

“A pie can be sweet or savoury.”

-BITTER

With an unpleasantly sharp taste.

“a bitter flavour/taste/liquid

-SOUR

Having a sharp, sometimes unpleasant taste or smell, like a lemon, and not sweet.

“These plums are a bit sour.”

 

Heart disease

disease which affects the heart.

Ex: ”smoking increases the risk of developing heart disease”.

Junk food

pre-prepared or packaged food that has low nutritional value.

Ex: ”I was eating too much junk food”.


Artificial additive
an additive to food intended to improve its flavor or appearance or shelf-life.

Ex: “something added to enhance food or gasoline or paint or medicine”.

Diabetes
Diabetes is a disease that affects your body’s ability to produce or use insulin.

Ex: “diseases of the pancreas”.

 

Healthy weight

Nutrition The ideal weight for a particular height.

Ex: “Maintaining a healthy body weight is important to staying healthy”.

Bad fat

Like saturated fat, trans fat can raise LDL cholesterol, also known as “bad” cholesterol.

Ex: “how much fat we should eat”.
